Transforming Non-Profits for Justice and Equity
Exploring how nonprofit organizations can shift structures, share power, and better reflect the communities they serve.
About the initiative
Beyond Barriers was a 24-month initiative led by Elizabeth Fry New Brunswick and funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada.
It examined nonprofit structures, policies, leadership, governance, hiring, decision-making, and organizational practices—and explored how organizations can operate differently.
The work centres women and gender-diverse individuals, particularly people and communities historically excluded from leadership and influence.
