About the initiative
Beyond Barriers: Changing how we work from within
Beyond Barriers was a 24-month initiative led by Elizabeth Fry New Brunswick and funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE). Through this project, EFry NB has worked to advance women and gender diverse individuals' economic and leadership opportunities by examining and transforming the structures, policies and practices of our own organization and the broader non-profit sector. This work centres the voices of Indigenous women, newcomers and immigrants and those who face overlapping forms of discrimination. It is guided by feminist, anti-colonial and intersectional values -- and by a belief that real change begins from within.
